Teams and organisers have completed the first day of the 2016 high-school UAV Challenge Airborne Delivery. The teams today made presentations to the judges and the event scrutineers checked the unmanned aircraft, talked with the teams and tested the skills of the safety pilots. All 17 teams taking part today passed their scrutineering tasks and there was enough time to start the flying segment of the competition, with three teams undertaking their competition flights. Those teams were Rise Above (Noosa District State High School), Prankster Gangster Nation (Mueller College) and Indooroopilly State High School. Teams will come back tomorrow. Teams will return for Day 2 to complete the main flying tasks, but at this stage we are predicting that we will use the Adverse Weather Day on Thursday due to predicted rain tomorrow.
